- We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we are
SocialScope is a service of FaZe Media, Inc. d/b/a HardScope ("HardScope", "we", "us"). HardScope is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at legal@hardscope.com.
Legal review: Confirm whether HardScope acts as controller, as processor for partner apps, or both, and in which jurisdictions. What SocialScope does
Partner apps use SocialScope to let you connect a social account and to read that account's profile, public posts and post counts. A partner app sends you to SocialScope, you approve access on the platform's own page, and SocialScope stores the access the platform grants. It then reads your data and passes it to that app. Some partner apps also use SocialScope to let you sign in with your Google account.
SocialScope only reads. It never posts, edits or deletes anything on your accounts.
Information we collect
What we collect depends on the platform you connect and on what the partner app asked for and you approved.
| Source | What we collect |
|---|---|
| YouTube | Your channel's ID, name, handle, picture, description and link. Your channel's public videos: their IDs, titles, descriptions, thumbnails, links and publish dates. View, like and comment counts. The access and refresh tokens Google issues for read-only access to your YouTube account. |
| TikTok | Your TikTok user ID, display name and profile picture. Your public videos' IDs, captions, thumbnails, links and publish dates. View, like, comment and share counts. The access and refresh tokens TikTok issues. |
| Your professional account's ID, username, name and profile picture. Your posts' and reels' IDs, captions, thumbnails, links, media types and publish dates. Like and comment counts, and view and share counts from Instagram's insights. The access token Instagram issues. | |
| Google sign-in | When a partner app offers "Sign in with Google": your Google account ID, email address and whether Google has verified it, your name and a link to your profile picture. We don't store Google access or refresh tokens for sign-in, and sign-in gives us no access to YouTube. |
| Partner apps | The ID a partner app uses for you, which tells us nothing else about you, the app you're connecting to and the kinds of data it asked for. |
| Our own records | When connections, reads and disconnects happened, and security logs. These records never contain your tokens. |
How we use it
- To connect your account to the partner app you chose and give that app the data it asked for.
- To read newer posts and counts when the partner app asks, and to renew access tokens so your connection keeps working.
- To keep each app's connections separate, detect misuse and keep SocialScope secure.
- To meet our legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
The partner app you connected
When you connect an account in a partner app, you authorize us to share that account's data with that app. This is a transfer of your data to the partner app, which uses it under its own privacy policy. Each app receives only the connections you made in that app, and only the kinds of data it asked for and you approved. Connecting the same account to a second app is a separate approval.
Companies that run SocialScope for us
Our hosting and infrastructure providers store and process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit what they can do with it.
Legal review: Name the production hosting provider and any other processors. When the law requires it
We may disclose data to comply with a law, regulation, legal process or government request, or where it's reasonably necessary to enforce our agreements or protect the rights, property or safety of our users, HardScope or others.
If HardScope changes hands
If HardScope is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. It stays covered by this policy unless you're told otherwise.
We don't share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
YouTube API Services
SocialScope uses YouTube API Services to read the YouTube data you approve. By connecting a YouTube channel, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
You can remove SocialScope's access to your YouTube data at any time on your Google Account permissions page. SocialScope's use of cookies and similar storage is described under Cookies.
Google user data
SocialScope's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In practice, we use Google data only to provide the features you see in the partner app you connected, and we transfer it only to that app. We don't use it for advertising. People at HardScope don't read it unless you ask us to, it's needed for security, or the law requires it.
Cookies
SocialScope uses only the cookies it needs to work:
- Short-lived cookies that tie a connection or sign-in request to your browser while you approve it. They end with the request.
- Sign-in cookies for HardScope staff who use the SocialScope admin.
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, and no third party sets cookies through SocialScope. Partner apps, including the sample app we run for testing, set their own cookies under their own policies. SocialScope doesn't change how it works in response to a browser's "Do Not Track" signal, because it doesn't track you across sites.
Legal review: Engineering to confirm the longest lifetime of the connect and sign-in cookies so it can be stated. How long we keep it
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Posts and counts | Removed 30 days after we last read them. A partner app can ask us to read them again, which refreshes them. |
| Profile details | Removed 30 days after we last read them, on the same terms. |
| Access tokens | Kept encrypted while the connection is active. Erased when the connection ends. |
| After a disconnect or deletion request | The partner app stops receiving the data straight away, and it's hidden. We erase what we stored for that connection once the platform confirms our access has ended, and no later than about 7 days after the disconnect or request. |
| Google sign-in details | Removed once the partner app has collected them, and no later than about a day after the sign-in request.Legal review: Engineering to confirm the exact limit (the service scrubs results at expiry and alerts after 25 hours). |
| Activity and security records | Removed after 30 days. |
We don't keep restorable backups of this data, so erased data can't come back.
Your choices
- Disconnect in the partner app. The app stops receiving your data straight away, and we erase what we stored for that connection within about 7 days. For YouTube and TikTok, this also pauses the account in other apps that use SocialScope.
- Remove SocialScope at the platform. Your platform lists SocialScope, not the partner app. Removing it ends every connection you made through SocialScope for that account. Use your Google Account permissions, TikTok's app permissions or Instagram's apps and websites settings. Step-by-step instructions are on the data deletion page.
- Ask us. Email legal@hardscope.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. Tell us the platform and account handle. We'll confirm it's your account before acting.
A partner app may keep its own copy of data it already received. Ask that app to delete it.
Your rights by region
Depending on where you live, you may have the rights below. To use any of them, email legal@hardscope.com. We'll verify your identity by matching details you give us, such as the platform and account handle, with what we hold. You can ask an authorized agent to act for you with your written permission, and we may ask you to confirm your identity directly. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
California
You can ask what personal information we've collected about you, ask us to correct it and ask us to delete it. California law also gives you the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. SocialScope doesn't sell or share your personal information in that sense, and doesn't disclose it to third parties for their own direct marketing.
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and Utah
You can confirm whether we process your personal information, get a copy of it in a portable format, ask us to correct it and ask us to delete it, subject to exceptions in the law. You can also opt out of targeted advertising and sale. SocialScope does neither.
Nevada
You can ask us not to sell your personal information. SocialScope doesn't sell it.
Legal review: Add EU and UK rights and response times if SocialScope will serve creators there.Security
Platform access tokens are encrypted when stored and are never given to partner apps. Each partner app reaches SocialScope with its own key and can only read connections made in that app. We use commercially reasonable organizational, technical and physical safeguards, though no system can guarantee complete security.
Children
SocialScope isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. Each platform also sets its own minimum age. If you're a parent or guardian and think your child under 13 connected an account, email legal@hardscope.com with the platform and account handle. We'll investigate and delete the data. Never send us a password.
Where we process data
We and our service providers may store and process your data in the United States and in other countries where we or they operate. Wherever it's processed, we take reasonable steps to protect it, such as standard contractual clauses where the law recognizes them.
Legal review: Confirm the production hosting region so this section can name it.Changes to this policy
We'll post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll give notice before it takes effect.
